    Storm ES_Hydra 1000M Empty Storm ES_Hydra 1000M

Post by domecurb Fri Mar 24 2017, 15:50

apologies to some as i have been calling this a Fossil scratch its not Mad its a "Storm" ES-Hydra 1000m Chronograph.
it has a screw down crown and screw down pushers helping to give it its 1000m depth rating, 4.5mm thick crystal, a very good Miyota os60 movement, solid stainless steel bracelet with divers extension,, it measures 46mm across including the crown and is 17mm thick.
this is a limited edition watch and is one of 3000, they came with black dials like this one, blue or silver and they seem to be pretty rare with none for sale anywhere.
i remember when these first came out as i tried to buy one but they sold out very quickly and this is the first one i have seen since [for sale or otherwise]
the watch is absolutely "new old stock"....never worn and it still has the protective blue lacquer on all the high points as well as the case back sticker, it came in its original box, with all its papers and original receipt which shows it was bought in Manchester, a brand new spare full bracelet and 2 brand new carbon fibre water proof straps.
interestingly it also came with a catalogue from the same year as the the watch and it states:

" THE STORM "ES" RANGE IS A COLLECTSION OF DESIGNS FEATURING HIGHER SPECIFICATIONS SUCH AS CHRONOGRAPHS, BACKLIGHTS, EXTREME SHOCK RESISTANCE AND INCREASED WATER RESISTANCE "

i suspect the ES-Hydra is the best made watch they have ever released [ i wont say made as i don't believe Storm actually make watches Wink ]

i have known for sometime that fashion brands occasionally release good quality watches along with their "standard" range as this helps to raise the brand image, but the ES Hydra exceeded my expectations, i am not saying rush out and buy a Storm watch especially as some of them are decidedly dodgy at best, but maybe they are worth a second look.

that is very nice and not as big as I was expecting. I really like the unusual strap pins I have never seen ones like that before .
