Sat mooching through Ebay as one does when one is bored and I cam across this

Think I found my next purchase S-l1600

Think I found my next purchase S-l1600

On the back it states it is a 7s26-0040 and after a little research I think it is a Skx033 this one dates back to 2005 so has a little bit of age to it . Strap needs replacing as the seller states small wrists , bezel insert might possibly be getting changed not sure yet as I might keep as is until later next year as I may have plans to mod this watch into a FFF Very Happy the crystal looks ok just might need a polish up

so lets hope the gods of Ebay are on my side when I put my in my bid in a few days when the action ends

Looks like a good project with you having a number of ideas of what to do with it. Very Happy

I hope the "eBay gods" are on your side when the auction finishes. It's terrible when you've followed something for days and at the last second up pops the you've been out bid message. Evil or Very Mad

Well I didnt win the watch Sad which I am ok about actually as after doing a bit more research on it it wasnt really one that I wanted in the end lol!

I have now found a non running Seiko Auto that is getting closely watched as I quite fancy putting a new movement in it if the price is right

I have three projects / purchases in mind , firstly is to change the hands and dial on the monster I bought from you , secondly is to get a 7002 I bought fixed up as the movement is in a bit of a state and finally I have my modded 007 but want to buy an original 007 and leave it as original . But we all know what happens when plans are made

I know about the mods with autos just not sure if the quartz dials are the same size , I would like to transform this to a Tudor style I think that would look good. .

the dial would need to be measured as would the movement spacer, but it most likely can be done with out too much trouble

I must admit I would like to change the dial , I did read about removing the word Invicta and the wings but it leaves 4 unsightly holes on the dial .

you really need to think what you would like to do to it then work out if its possible IE will it take an auto movement and is it worth the hassle

1st plan is to restore it as is with quartz movement and wear it for a while , then I will see if I can keep movement and hands but change/replace the dial. If I cant I will just leave it as is Smile

here you go scroll down, they are a mixture of quartz and mechanical, all the mechanical dials can take any modern seiko auto IE NH36 etc
