i bought a job lot last week which arrived this morning, i found the lot with about 30 seconds till the end of auction and it had no bids, i spotted something interesting [ i hoped ]
can you see it ?
its the right hand watch in the row of three, it looked gold and the thing about this style of case is: i have only ever come across them chrome plated brass, solid silver or solid gold so figured it was worth risking £5
they arrived this morning, 2 of them i wont even show you as they are just rubbish and heading for the bin, but these 2 are worth having
1974 timex..working and an early Sekonda quartz with a 5 jewel Remex [ hong kong] movement...working too
interestingly the one that caught my attention turns out to be a 9ct Helvetia dated 1941, a lovely little thing with a working spotless movement and a nice ceramic dial
the square one with the leather strap is also 9ct, of unknown make but with a high grade movement which needs a little clean and service, this one dates to 1937
coincidently both have "Stolrace" cases and both hallmarked Chester
just goes to show there are still bargains to be had on eBay................keep your eyes open chaps
