Invicta get a rough deal on watch forums IMOHO, but some times it is deserved as they do [ regularly ] make some absolute rubbish IMO, on the other hand though they produce 100's of thousands of watches every year and some are incredible quality and spec for the money.
My favourite in the massive range is the "GRAND DIVER" series and i doubt there is another maker that can offer so much for so little money, the "standard" Grand Diver features 300m WR and a Seiko NH series 24 jewel auto/hand wind movement, you can pick these up for a little over £100, the build quality for the price is astounding
a small step down from the Grand Diver is the Pro Diver and these are also superb value for money, they come with a more than adequate 200 WR and the same NH series Seiko movement, but has a smaller case which is not always a bad thing given that the Grand Diver is 47mm wide, too big for some ...
The following is a Grand Diver i have been looking out for for ages and when it appeared i pounced..
Invicta 6617
Movement Swiss
Caliber: Sellita SW200 26 jewel, 28,800 high beat
Case Size: 47mm
Case Material: Stainless Steel
Crystal Type: Flame Fusion
500m WR
Screw down crown
Microtec M3 Tritium gas tube hour markers and hand lume.
this is i suppose an upgraded "Grand Diver" and is a LTD edition No: 140 of 300, the Tritium gas tubes replace the "average at best" Invicta lume and will glow continuously for 25 years without the need to be recharged by a light source.
At 28,800 the SW200 second hand sweep is silky smooth compared to the 24 jewel NH35/36
the build quality doesnt disappoint either with a fit and finish as good as anything i have tried
the watch comes with a rubber strap as standard, its good quality and a nice soft rubber, but as ii dont like rubber it has been replaced with a 24mm wide shark mesh
with mesh
still looking for a Grand Diver with the crown at 2pm....like hens teeth though
