This one originally belonged to Iceblue then went to Domecurb more can be seen here

The watch is now in my care and I decided I wanted to give it a splash of colour . Bought a new dial and set of hands and here it is with before and after photos

As you can see the date window is not exactly lined up correctly and if you look closely you can see the stem I think this is because the dial feet are not set exactly in the right position but I can live with this.

i think if it was the dial feet them the cannon for the hands would be so far out nothing would work, but if it is the feet then i would cut them off and refit because although you have achieved a good look.....i couldn't live with that Crying or Very sad sorry not a criticism.....i am just realy fussy Wink

I have had a closer look and think it may not be the feet but the dial . These come in various sizes and the seller stated this was 31.1mm but I bet it is 29.5mm . I am not removing the dial to check as the movement holder is annoying to screw in but may measure it through the crystal.

check the dial you took out as its clearly bigger than the one you put in but i think the date window is in the wrong position

I remember measuring the Original dial as it was 31.5mm that is why I ordered a dial that was 31.15mm , the ebay listing states ""Dial only. Diameter is 31.15mm. Fit DG 2813. Yellow luminova markers.""

Without removing the movement to measure the dial I measured through the crystal . The crystal itself is 31mm and I can clearly see the dial is smaller than the crystal . I measure the dial to be 29.5mm dia ..... Great I been sold the wrong dial .

I think an email to the seller is needed as now I know the gap is there I keep looking for it.

thats the trouble, you know its there and will get cheesed off looking at it and the watch will end up being shoved out of sight Crying or Very sad
if you are going to complain i think you need to remove the dial and photograph it next to a ruler and send the image via ebay to the seller, its a pain but there is no argument then

I think that is exactly what I am going to have to do , as you say I know it is there now.

I will wait till I return from our night away and remove the movement from the case and photograph it then email the seller.

You did well with your choice of design & being able to fit the dial etc. It’s a pity it’s been spoilt by the seller making an error with the dial size. Hopefully that will be sorted out without any hassle and you can get the correct sized dial as it does suit the watch and looks great. Very Happy

Anyone can attempt it , if you fail first time you simply try again later.
Going to remove dial / movement tomorrow and measure the dial properly tomorrow

Measured the dial today and I was wrong it is not 29.5 but actually 31.15 as the seller stated

    Braun Diver facelift Img_2068

I measured the dial that I replaced and that is 31.5 so that additional 0.4mm must be important .

    Braun Diver facelift Img_2069

I will have a search on ebay for a bigger dial hopefully the same style as I really like it. Oh and I have come to the conclusion I really HATE small fiddly movement holder clamps , especially when one flies out of your tweezers and you spend 20 minutes  searching for it.

0.4mm wont make a difference, as it involves a round item .the difference is actually 0.2mm because you need to measure from the center, i think the issues is the dial is intended for a different movement, i cant see where the cannon pinion sits in the center of the dial, but if if its not centered then the dial feet are wrong, if it is centred then the dial is just wrong and removing the feet wont solve the problem as the date window will still be way out, another way of looking at is..would 0.2mm line up the date window with the date disc?...........i dont think it will

To reduce any further mess ups I think it best to look for another dial that does not have a date window.

the dial feet still need to be right though for the numbers to be in the right place

So far the only 31.5mm dials I have seen are boring or have a gloss finish which is not what I am looking for . I did fing a rather smart dial but that was 33.5 so 2mm bigger meaning it would be 1mm either side .

without stripping the watch and measure again which I dont want to do because of those movement claps looking at this photo i may have enough space for the additional 1mm

    Braun Diver facelift Img_2068

only problem I can see is the little slot at 3 oclock I need that slot to fit through the stem tube.

if you put the movement/dial back in at an angle then it should go back together, the other option is to file all round the dial......just half a mm will give you 1 mm clearance, i have done this a few times and if you are careful and take your time it works well, the rough/filed portion should be hidden by the case rehaut

I have just realised though they have a date window I was trying to find one without date window to reduce the risk of it not lining up .
