3 X orient divers projects

So as most are aware I have a few orient projects on the go and I was finding it very difficult to source these Quartz movement , I did get one from eBay but the movement was nos and didn't run so back it went ,

Until resently I was stumped on the movements were can get them but are trusted member Bruce has come up again and what can I say apart from many thanks and let the tinkering begin

The first one is a divers Quartz orient model D39745 with a Seiko 007 look about the dial movement not working

The second is a divers Quartz orient model d39748 movement not working

And the third a divers orient D39053 and is in working condition a parts from the day date wheel and hour hand

So thanks to Bruce I have a movement with some parts on route and hopefully one good working watch will come out of this and may be a second with transplanting new parts in the Quartz movement

I will up date the thread as and when I get things done the only problem I have had in the past are hands fitting but over the past few months I seem to have got a lot better so hopefully i havnt lost the touch

thats three surprisingly rare watches there

I must admit I hope I can at least salvage one , your right they don't pop up to much and when they do we buy them

apart from a couple on other forums, ours are the only other ones i have seen.
one of mine came from Israel for something like 67p

Good luck with everything Andy I hope all goes to plan . when it comes to replacing the hands do you use one of these

Right a little parcel arrived today many thanks Bruce a movement and spare parts that I may be able to repaire some of the other movement

And the first one is done the hands lume parts have had it so I will be getting rid of the lume insert on the hands and getting them painted white and the insert I am going to leave it as it tells a story what story I don't know but anyway

I have got a bezel insert that's the same and fits so when I so the hands I will update with the bezel and case polish

Very kind of Bruce and well done to yourself, it sounds like you are making good progress. I wouldn't know where to start with this type of project.
Looking forward to hearing how you are getting on and seeing some more pictures.

the hands are easy to relume.........cocktail sticks fit in the mounting holes for the hands and the second hand can be held with rodico or plasticine
this is my israeli cheapo......it was wrecked and i was going to replace the hands but they are an odd size so a rescue was required, repainted and relumed, i did the minute hand a different colour.....just because

Many thanks once again Bruce I really feel positive about doing the hand and having a tinker with the other projects

So after some great inspiration (I stolen the idea ) from Bruce lol I went with the self painted yellow sport style hands as a everyday beater it's getting a fair bit of wrist time I think as a at home working around the house etc it fits in to the collection nicely

Wouldn't have thought of yellow for the hands but that looks really good & a perfect contrast against the dial. Well done.
