Mido Multifort Escape Empty Mido Multifort Escape

Post by SeikoJohn Sat Sep 09 2017, 20:05

I was searching the internet earlier for watches and looked at the Hodinkee website and came across these The Mido Multifort Escape

They immediately stood out and grabbed my attention I think that they are both appealing to the eye . After a little reading they are 44mm in Dia and the cases have been sandblasted then given a PVD gunmetal coating and I think it is the coating that is one of the appeals to me as well as the orange / black combination.

This next bit looses me slightly as I am not really savvy on watch movements but they have a ETA CO7.611 base ( Based on the ETA 2824 )  Basically I am guessing it is a rather good Automatic movement ( please correct me if I am wrong)

Apart from the orange / black combo and gun metal case another really big like for me is the Big **** Crown how cool is that .

Anyway I will not be buying one but I liked it and thought I would share

very nice, but i dont like the case finish, it makes the watch look cheap which it probably isnt
the movement is just like the 2824 apart from the main spring which has been upgraded also the beat has been reduced to 21,000 and this all adds up to an 80 hr power reserve
i would like to see in brushed stainless, i think it would look really smart

Oh it most certainly is not a cheap watch £600+ . I can not find where I read this but I believe that Mido is part of the swatch group .

For me I like the gun metal case because it is unusual .

I think they look pretty smart. I like the bold Arabic numerals and the clean uncluttered dial. The case finish looks like it needs polished rather than it being like that by design. No doubt the "patinated" finish would appeal as it is different from the norm. It would be good if it has a strong lume which doesn't always seem to be the case with some modern watches.

Overall nice watches & thanks for sharing / posting. Mido Multifort Escape 3377044411

If you have a quick look at the first link I posted it shows that the lume comes in blue and green super luminova and seems good

Thanks John, I've just seen them. The lume is very good and I really like that it's not just the hands but the Arabic numerals as well. Very Happy
