The Watch Clock Forum is also good specially if it was felt that it would maximise the possible "hits" the site would get.

I'm not sure about having both watch & watches in the title rather than just using one of the words. Does the title need to cover both single and plural nouns, possibly it's catchy though.

too me "The Watch Clock Forum"  sounds like a place to watch clocks plus its one word too long IMO

I misquoted Daz's idea which was watch and clock forum. No doubt it could be preceded with "The" if needed. It's main advantage, I presume, is having three key words that people may find if googling for forums etc.

Apart from that The Watch Chat Forum is also pretty good if it can be used.

I think Daff62 makes a good point. I think as much content needs freeing up as possible to none member to help gain interest. I suspect most forum members of any site start off as lurkers for a little while before joining in once their interest is caught.

I agree with the name and the idea to allow access to the lurkers to as much content as possible, we need to convert them into members that contribute.
Putting words up content and replying to content will also be key.

i am more than happy to open the whole forum up to non members, but not for posting as that would encourage the idiots also the sales area needs to be restricted.....if nothing else it will add a bit of mystery

"WATCH AND CLOCK FORUM" then ?

It is getting a better vibe ie positive, even like that change of pic on the banner.
May I suggest that we move to another thread with a better title and this one is clearly incorrect now.

there is going to have to be a minor alteration to the new name.........it will now be

    www.thewatch&clockforum.forumotion.co.uk

at some point in the future i hope it to be www.thewatch&clockforum.co.uk

i actually think its better with the ampersand, but regardless it is still searchable which is the main thing

I am a little confused and yes I know this does not take much to confuse me , is the forum name going to start with "The" or simply "Watch & Clock Forum"

for the purpose of the web address personally I would have it as "thewatchclockforum.forumotion.co.uk" or watchclockforum.forumotion.co.uk but the forum name I believe should be "The Watch & Clock Forum " or "Watch Clock Forum"

the name is too long to use "and" the whole address is 2 letters too long and the apersand is not allowed in the web address as it means something else in code so wouldnt work

the actaul forum name can be anything as its only a description of contents so "the watch and clock forum" can be used
