A Bit Of Brass Empty A Bit Of Brass

    Post by PC-Magician Sat Mar 04 2017, 17:02

I received this lovely Brass TC-9 Watch a couple of weeks back and must say I am ver pleased with it the timekeeping is excellent.

The movement in these has been stripped down cleaned and lubricated as we know lots of these movements leave the factory dry which is not good.

    Spec

    43.5 mm width

    Highest grade Marine Brass

Highest Grade titanium crown and case back

Seagull ST3600 movement cleaned, lubricated, regulated and adjusted.
Double Domed Sapphire Crystal - front and back with AR coating

High quality Super Lumed B-UHR dial

High quality Titanium buckle and leather strap

    5 ATM

Leather Travel case for two watches.

Must say I am impressed with the quality of the Watch it wears very nicely without being too heavy, it has a very easy to read dial which is nicely made as is the crown which is smooth to wind.
It will be interesting to see how the brass ages.

Here is a bit of info on the company.

Our brand is called TC-9. This stands for Tropical Cyclone warning flag number 9. The Tropical Cyclone flag warning system is used mainly in Hong Kong to signfy the severity of an oncoming Typhoon. We chose this name to honour the role Hong Kong and the nearby cities of Shenzen and Guangzou play in the Microbrand watch world. Although we are a Swiss Company we fully embrace and admire the role China plays in the Micro brand world. Im English but i used to live in Hong Kong and Typhoon Number 9 (as its known) was my favourite day. You get extreme weather and you get a day of work to play. What could be better? Our logo is the actual warning flag symbol.

Very nice indeed I have never had a brass cases watch but I do like the idea of a long working progress with the patina

Yep, I like that. Great looking watch, I'd definitely be looking out for one. Where did you even hear of this brand, never come across them before?

Good question I was doing some research and came across the website purely by chance.

    http://tc-9watches.mysimplestore.com/

However I didn't buy from the site I was lucky enough to find one on ebay at a considerable saving so I couldn't resist.
