@Mr Levity is the " L&H Appreciation Society " a real thing ? i love Laurel and Hardy and so so my kids, i dont understand why we dont see more of them on TV.....good clean hilarious fun IMO

Something a little different for me today.
This Nivada Antarctic

Nivada introduced their "Antarctic" model in the 1950s in support of the US Navy "Operation Deep Freeze" which took place between November 1955 and April 1956 ( the Antarctic Summer). It was designed to be durable, waterproof and anti magnetic.

This operation in the South Pole prepared a permanent research station in advance for the International Geophysics Year ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Geophysical_Year) which was from 1 July 1957 to 31 December 1958.
My watch is a later Antarctic model from the 1960s & has an ETA 2472 movement.
