Re: Seiko on a Sunday
Looks to be in very good / clean condition and a nice result for a Sunday mooch through eBay.
After wearing it a few times you may decide to leave it be unless the plans for the movement take priority.

Sounds like it was a bit of a bargain as well which is great.
Will look forward to some more pics when it arrives. I think it would be quite smart on the wrist.

Re: Seiko on a Sunday
I bought a set of hands this week and he buyer sent me the dial as well which was extremely generous of him so my plan was to put the dial in an office/dress style watch . here is the dial
I got the idea from my desk diver that Bruce put together for me

Re: Seiko on a Sunday
The Seiko arrived this morning very quick delivery which is always good . Seiko 7s26-0060 has a few day to day sctratches on the case bracelet and on scratch on the dial just between 1-2 and DNA loys of dna which is now gone thanks to an old toothbrush.
I plan on wearing as is for now then when ready will replace the dial and melaybe hands or I may use these . Not bad for £24 inc 1st class postage

Re: Seiko on a Sunday
Just looked at the case back photo again .... wow it still needs a really good clean .
What would I use to clean the case something like brasso , autosol some metal abrasive and a soft cloth ?

it depends what finish you are going for, if you just want to clean it then an old tooth brush warm water and perfumeless soap will do the job, if you want a brushed effect the green scouring pads do a good job, if you want to polish scratched areas the really you will need something like a dremel........t-cut makes a good job with a polishing head in a dremel

Re: Seiko on a Sunday
any excuse to get my Dremel out . I dont think a brushed effect will suit this style of watch so just a little tidy up and light polish .
I will wait until I remove the movement then I will have a go . thanks for the info

Re: Seiko on a Sunday
Cheers Bruce I must admit I prefer the blue rather that white dial .. it nearly didnt have a second hand though .. thought the hands were all secure so wound it through an hour make sure all was ok and SPRING off flew the second hand into the floor .. luckily I found it quite quickly
