Pogue new bezel Empty Pogue new bezel

    Post by apm101 Wed Nov 23 2016, 08:53

So I bought a slightly battered Pogue for eBay a while ago. Fortunately, the mechanics are very good (all works, keeps good time, just the stem is a little stiff for advancing the date and day). It had a proper patina of age, though.

A hunt on ebay, a reasonable spend and 10 minutes with a thin screwdriver and a case back press, and we now have this:

    Pogue new bezel Pogue_10

Quite a transformation! The hands and hour markers could still benefit form a relume, but that's much less noticeable now.

Well done, Alex, that looks very nice. Are you going to see if you can find a yellow indicator ring to swap for the black one, or do you prefer the black?
My refurbed one says 'Hi!' Very Happy

Love your Pogue, what a difference the new bezel has made!

I have a 'Blue Pogue' on the way, although I have learnt since buying it that it's a least partially franky. I think I'll be flipping it fairly quickly and trying to get an original gold pogue (or maybe a bullhead, love them too).

That's the trouble - I keep finding things on ebay! I found a NOS bullhead on there the other day. Fortunes it is, but lovely. Unfortunately I have a 5yo that eats money and a wife that is always wanting to make our house nicer so that one is not likely!

Blimey...that will be 'special', Pip...they only came in black, silver and yellow, IIRC...
Here's a place to look for all you need to know about finding the correct 'Pogue'

It apppears I can't post the link for a few more days yet, but will edit this post when the seven days are up and add the link.

Ok...7 days are up...lets try again...
