Plan today is to learn all about Linux as I plan on installing it onto my laptop as I am fed up with windows.

Good luck with that, sounds very complicated and a recipe for disaster If I was trying to do it. scratch

That is what I have used .... Mint

Managed to dual boot windows and Linux.

Possibly thinking of maybe buying a cheap cheap chromebook sized laptop just to run linux on until I get familiar with it . I stated years ago with Dos then win 3.1 and progressed all the way through to windows 10 but never tried Linux . Quite like the idea of a new challange.
