Watch Rotation Part two

I have decided to do a watch rotation again but also this time write a little review of each watch I wear . I may duplicate these reviews into other sections of the forum but I have not decided yet.

Today I have gone for my Monster this monster has had numerous owners and numerous facelifts . I am not certain as to how this Monster originally looked I have tried googling the  reference numbers on the case back 7s26-0350 but it brings up various models .

Specs

Movement is Automatic 7S26

Crystal is Hardlex

Case is Stainless Steel

Case Diameter 42mm

Case thickness 13mm

Water resistance 200m (not that I will be trying it )

This is how I purchased the watch originally



It was then modded by our very own Domecurb who fixed the movement for me and added the funky hands and chunky big crown. I cleaned up the bezel and it became known as the MonsterMash / Green Goblin



I wore for a long time but an opportunity arose where I bought some dials and hands in a sale so here we have the newly changed and not to be changed again ever monster

i can give you the history of the watch, it was mine from new and had an orange dial, i kept it a while and decided i didnt like it and it sold on TWF to a member from Glasgow, it was paid for via Paypal and duly posted off RMSD after delivery the buyer contacted me to say it wasn't working on reciept so i said send it back for a full refund including return post [ i like to be fair ] as soon as it arrived i refunded and it was only when i looked at it later i discovered it wasnt even the same watch, the movement was knackered, the case and crystal was scratched, but i had already refunded
it was sorted, new movement, case polish and new crystal along with a new jumbo crown, dial and handset, after a while it was rehomed with @Iceblue and the rest is history

So originally it would have looked like this the SKX781K1



It is good to find out the history of the watch although it is a shame to hear that someone ripped you off that is definitely not good

Great looking watch.

A bit of a mixed history with Domecurb's bad experience. What a rotten thing to do.

I must admit the white dialled version was pretty impressive and I really like the design of the sweep second hand in the original orange version.

I'm not so sure about the "not to be changed again, ever" bit. The temptations that come up to change things around seem very difficult to resist with you chaps.

No this one is definitely not going to be getting changed I can say this because I now have my Invicta that I am not 100% happy with so that will be my next project watch

Marine Master homage watch today . This was built by our very own Domecurb the case is a 7s26-0020 which is a SKX007 case but upon opening the caseback it has a NH36A movement in it

Water resistance 200m (not that I will be trying it )

As I said this is a homage watch to the Seiko Marine Master and was built by Domecurb from scratch this watch really does show off his skills and has to be one of my smartest watches that I own . This watch only really comes out for special occasions oh and days when I am writing a review about it .

The Shark mesh that the watch came on is heavy and chunky just how I like them and really comfy. Certain watches I own I like them to be on the slightly heavier side as it reassures me that the watch is on my wrist .

Very nice and testament to Domecurb's knowledge and skill. I really like the mesh strap which looks perfect for the watch and works well with the coin edge bezel. That style of sweep second hand I think would also look good in your Seiko Monster.

Seiko 7002-7000 I have dated this watch back to May 1994 . Originally bought from Iceblue here on the forum I did have it on a Seiko rubber strap but they are really uncomfortable so I decided to swop it over to a leather strap …. Much better

One of the things that appeals to me with this watch is the rectangular markers I think they suite the design of the watch and the lume on it is brilliant ( not that i am a lume person )

This has to be probably my favourite daily beater watch especially now as it is on a leather strap

Seiko 7002-7001 I have dated this watch back to July 1993 . When I bought this watch from another forum it looked like this when it arrived



It had a little bit of trouble with a swimming pool and some water damage has occurred.

Water resistance 150m (not that I will be trying it especially as this one did not like swimming pools to begin with  )

Domecurb brought this one back to life for me and added the blue dial and chapter ring I bought he also added the black shroud which I will admit at first glance thought it looked big but when it went on the wrist it just fitted lovely and I really like it now . I do need to change the seiko diver strap as mentioned previously with another 7002 I just do not like those straps although it really suits the watch and shroud

Today is a complete one of a kind build using a ETA 6497 movement




This was gifted to me by Domecurb at Christmas not the type of watch I would pick myself but once I wore it I really liked it . The leather strap is comfy and I thought that the big crown may at times dig into my wrist but no it does not .

I really like display case backs which is a little weird as we do not see them because they are against the wrist , this one however is a beauty you can see all the movement clearly and watching the balance wheel oscillate can be quite hypnotic . Another unusual feature on the movement are the screws as the majority of them are blue

Today’s offerings started out as a Seiko 7s26-03w0 unfortunately I am unable to find and original photo . I bought this from another forum and as I like to change the appearance of certain watches this was one that required changing.

I present the Seiko Desk Diver




Dial and hands changed to give the appearance of a diver watch IMO they certainly do go well together .

Water resistance I would say no

This one again has the display caseback showing off the movement nicely
