Where to buy watches

Hi is it allowed to point me in the right direction to buy some cheap watches, I have been trying the bay and bidding what I think after searching what the models have been selling for in the past but keep loosing out( maybe I'm just a cheapskate) but would appreciate if I had some other places to look ?

where to buy watches from depends a lot on if you wish to buy new watches or pre owned and do you have an idea of a style that you wish to buy .. are you after older watches or newer ones , diver style or dress style , quartz or Automatic .

eBay is a hit or a miss and can be frustrating specially if out bidded at the last second. I think it's worthwhile perservering though as you will be seeing what the type of watches you are interested in are selling for & sometimes your bid could be successful.

Apart from the Internet local auction houses, antique or for that matter watch fairs, watch forums such as this one, as well as car boots could all be sources for your collection.

A lot of my watches weren't bought because I was specifically looking for them, they were what I came across and liked.

Mind you that was when the Internet didn't exist so I had to be out and about looking.

Thanks I usually search all the watches that will end in the next 24hrs and just bid on any I like from a couple of pounds upwards, working or not. I feel that I need to dip my toes into servicing watches and if only at the bottom end and I can practice on it, but also need to get my collection built up

as you are in Hamilton, try the antique center at Garrion bridge, they usualy have a resonable selection of watches spread out in different cases, they will give discounts but never more than 10%
i buy 99% of my watches off ebay, try not to bid until the last 7 or 8 seconds or do a search for newly listed and buy it now as you can get cheaply listed watches but the are hoovered up quickly
