Stock Seiko 7002 to modded doxa homage

Post by Iceblue on Sat Apr 15 2017, 13:24

So I sold a Seiko 7002 to John and shortly after I wanted to do a Seiko homage to a watch I was unsure what mod I wanted to do and started browsing the usual modding web sites

First of all I needed to source another 7002 and I did manage to source one and after a few weeks of looking and asking members opinions I made my decision , this is what the Seiko looked like before the mod a genuine Seiko stock 7002

After a few email I decided on a doxa homage to the great watch and something you don't really see that offer modded so when the postman arrived with the parts the fun began

Bezel replaced with a coin edge bezel
Bezel insert replaced with a doxa type insert
Hands replaced with doxa style hands
And dial replaced with doxa type dial

I may change the chapter ring at some point unsure yet , puts far this is the finished result and I mast admit I have over the moon with the transformation

Say hello to my Seiko doxa homage

That looks really good you must be extremely happy with the finished result . As for the chapter ring I quite like it as it gives an illusion of depth to the dial.

Well done great job you just need some sun now to wear it

For once the crystal seems to sit perfect against the coin edge bezel and insert

Placed it on a stainless steel Seiko bracket to see how it goes and it seems to suit it imo

It looks like a really good mod. I don't normally go for orange though I prefer this to a planet ocean. It looks perfect on the steel bracelet in my opinion, I'd be keeping it on a bracelet personally.
