So I've been into watches in a big(ish) way for about 4 years now. One of the first things I did was invest in a cheap set of tools from eBay. You probably know the sort of thing, link extractor, caseback remover, bracelet tool, screwdrivers etc. £15. Great value indeed, and I've been using them ever since. I have persevered, despite some clear quality issues (pointy bits breaking off, screws coming undone etc), not wanting to shell out for the MUCH more expensive kit that is the alternative.

Anyway, I had a bit of Christmas cash left over, so invested in a Bergeon 6767-F bracelet tool. Basically a steel stick with prongs at one end, and a pointy but at the other. Now it's arrived, I am delighted- the thing itself is so well made that it's lovely to look at and use. And it makes an absolute breeze of even my trickiest straps and bracelets. The ends are even changeable/ replaceable!

Definitely worth the investment, which was about £14 from eBay!

Given the difference in quality and ease of use it looks to have been money well spent. It will no doubt also last a lot longer than the cheaper tools. Bergeon 6767-F 3377044411

the cheap ones are low grade metal and bend/snap easily, it really does pay do buy good stuff, but i believe if just starting out then buy cheap tools to try....you never know you may hate it or be useless Laughing

I mainly have tools from the lower end of the market not the cheapest ones but not the best either I am one of those " all the gear but no idea " kind of guys . I did manage however to gather all my watch related items and store them in one place should make it easier from now on .
