Show us your Orients

Post by Elwood on Sat 10 Dec 2016 - 8:20

I don't think it will be quite as popular as the Seiko thread, but I have noticed a couple of Orient pictures on the forum so there must be a bit of love for them!

The top one with the black dial is an M Force. It's a nice enough watch, works well though I'm not keen on th hands.
The one on the bottom left is a slide rule watch. It's a decent inexpensive, reliable watch which retailed at below £150 and according to some reviews the best slide rule watch before you start looking at Breitling equivalents.
Bottom right is a 70s classic styled Orient. It's mechanically sound so I guess it was well made. The picture doesn't do it justice as the dial is a stunning rich green which goes well with the mesh strap.

I only have the one Orient this HA 21 Jewel automatic...

I quite like the faceted case and glass. Very Happy

Wasn't sure what the HA represented but found this online.....

I've checked the movement on mine and it is a 48941 as per the picture.

I'm not a big diver fan, leaning more towards dress watches.

I do have one I can go swimming with:

But the other two are definitely taken off when washing up !

I used to have the white version too, but sold it as I didn't really need two white dialed Orients because I have this one as well:

Great value watches that look good and keep excellent time.

They are all nice though the last one is my favourite. Beautifully designed and would hold its own against many other dress watches.

That's really nice, I like the strong vibrant colour.

Similar to your new Seiko, a nato strap would also work well with it I think. Very Happy

Nice watch, it certainly competes well with Seiko for aesthetic appeal, personally I like the strap you have it on as oppose to a nato, though I appreciate purists may not put a diver on a leather strap

It came on the leather, which is a gorgeous strap. May change it at some point but only to nick the strap for a different watch! I already have a few on bracelets if I want to get wet with a watch on...
