Quite like the Batman one but I can imagine what my wife would say if I brought one of these into the house. Evil or Very Mad

When I have a Watch fettled I tend to put it on a Watchwinder to see if it runs well for a couple of weeks, then wear it then leave in various positions.
If it passes all those tests I am happy.

I'm maybe about to buy a cheap watch winder, got to be worth a punt as it's up for £25 delivered and it's on amazon for about £70 I think. Not entirely sure I need it, although I do have quite a few auto's.

Ah, missed out, somebody just beat me to the punch. No worries, that's £25 toward the next bargain!

Never really felt the need for a winder. Most of my watches are autos, and it takes seconds to set the time, date and start them going, whether it's a hand winder, or a 'shaker' like most Seiko autos. I just can't justify the price of them, the space they'll take up and dust they'll collect, the power they'll use, or the inevitable noise they must make.

i think they used to be about keeping the watches running so the lube didnt dry out, but these days its not so important with the synthetic oils............even so like you i never felt the need for one and to my knowledge have not suffered for not having one
