i think finding something that will display, protect., store safely and easily is something all collectors want and unless you are wealthy with a spare room you can use specifically for your collection then its all about compromise which is something i hate Mad i want every watch made but have nowhere to keep them apart from cupboards, under the bed, the loft and scattered far and wide Sad

Not really wanting the display style cabinet etc as there is no where to put it I just fancy something that isnt purposely designed as watch storage but will do the job . When I see that certain something I will know its just finding it first Very Happy

i find these days that purpose built watch storage is no use for modern large watches as they touch each other and get marked as a result.........to my OCD that is unacceptable Mad

Some of these. 6, 10 and 12 slots.

    And one of these:

Not usually this messy, but the man cave is a tip due to Christmas storage.

I use quite a few old tins / boxes, with each watch being wrapped in tissue inside, which I've labelled so theoretically I know what's in them.

A few old silver cigarette boxes, tissue lined.....

how do you store your watches <a href=how do you store your watches Image_501" />

though they hold a lot less that the tins.

There's also a small cabinet which must have been for stationary years ago. As the drawers are very narrow it's ideal for watches.

Any storage cabinet with "slim" drawers could be used though for the modern big watches there would have to be adequate clearance. Here is one example of what I mean, they can have five, ten, fifteen or more drawers.

It's just an idea which might be of some help. Very Happy

The furniture in our front room has a rather Vintage look to it with green chesterfield settee and chair and a couple of old wood cabinets so I like the idea of an older wooden stationary set of drawers like yours Very Happy

currently watching this on Ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302173717295?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT again I like it because it is old plus it will slide comfy under one of the wooden cabinets in our front room

That's a good idea John, you can also get quite small old brown leather suit cases which might also work. I have one which is roughly 14 inches wide & 4 inches deep which holds a number of pocket watches. Very Happy

Very clever idea and will look really smart with the watches safely stored inside. how do you store your watches 3377044411

I suppose it could be changed to a display case if a panel was cut out from the lid and replaced with a sheet of clear Perspex or something similar. Alternatively a thin layer of foam could be placed within the lid for added protection. For me though I would be quite happy to leave it as it is.

Will look forward to seeing it with the watches in place. Very Happy

That could have been a good idea and fitted in with the vintage look you like. I suppose the centre part of the stool could have been removed and replaced with glass to create a display case, though that could be easier said than done. Very Happy

The inner core of the Guardian is made from carbide, covered with aramide carbon fabric and polycarbonate. The lid is a miniature safe door with a three-digit key lock.

The Guardian is also equipped with a GPS tracking device, and can thus be precisely located around the globe.

It can be customised in an endless array of covering materials. The retail price is €12,000 for the calfskin covered version while the crocodile version is €14,500.

Not something that could be found in Lidl then. lol!

Always wonder with such things whether the people buying it want it to safely store very expensive watches or is it just as an expensive accessory that they can afford to have as something different. Possibly it could be a mixture of both. Shocked
