SEIKO SBBN033 TUNA

Post by domecurb on Mon Jan 14 2019, 21:19

SEIKO SBBN033
Arrived this morning and i am delighted with it Very Happy
Made In Japan
Stainless Steel Case
Silicon Strap
Quartz Movement
Caliber: 7C46
Hardlex Crystal
Black Dial
Antimagnetized
Luminous Hands And Markers
Day And Date Display
Screw Down Crown
Screw Down Case Back
300M Water Resistance
Approximate Case Diameter: 47.7mm
Approximate Case Thickness: 14.7mm

i have had the Homage version of this known as the Sharkie which in itself is a very good watch, well made and accurate, but the Tuna is in a league of its own when it comes to build quality, handling it you just "Know" its a serious divers watch...no question !
it arrived as standard on a very good rubber strap, it is soft and pliable unlike Seiko's normal offering like you would get on an SKX007 which resembles vinyl floor tiles in supplness.
the Tuna is now on a Strapcode super Engineer bracelet and this improves the looks massively IMO
the movement is not your standard quartz movement and has thermal compensation and despite the specs should run + or - around 5 seconds a month

some pics

the cases on these are almost [ not quite though ] the same and the fit and finish on the sharkey is just not on the same level and neither it should be as the Seiko is around 5 times dearer  Shocked

That’s a fantastic looing watch & you are quite right to be chuffed with it. It’s also a very nice acquisition to get 2019 underway.
