New projector watch

Post by domecurb on Wed Feb 28 2018, 23:19

not sure this will ever catch on as a watch face already acts as a display area so seems pointless creating another on the wrist IMO scratch

Something a bit different that may appeal to gadget lovers. I can’t help thinking how often you would have to keep adjusting your sleeves for the image to be projected on the screen.

Curious how they have managed to enable interaction with the watch by using the projected image on the skin. Possibly with progress with technology, functionality and design it may develop into something that would catch on in the future.

i love technology, but it annoys me when its used to solve a problem it creates, if you are going to wear tech on your wrist why not have a screen that shows the time rather than it projecting an image onto your skin...it just seems so pointless ....if they can magically make the time appear on the wrist WITHOUT any tech strapped to it then they will be on to something ...oh and it will need to be able to go for more than a day without charging.. IMHHO of course Wink its almost like having a guard dog but using a cd of a barking dog to deter burglars Very Happy

I do agree, it neither resolves a problem or provides an additional function that is needed. Given how much technology has advanced in recent years there must be an ongoing pressure to introduce new things to catch the eye and hopefully demand in the market place.

Funnily enough the concept of projecting time isn’t new. The victorians had their own type of projector clock like this example.....

I came across this article which may be of interest as it explains how they work and some background. Very Happy

http://www.prc68.com/I/Shadow-Clock.shtml

They were sometimes called nighttime, projection and sometimes as brothel clocks as per this advertisement.
