Kemmner Navy

on Sun Jan 07 2018, 15:47
another new arrival

Kemmner Navy Limited edition No: 62 of 100

42mm wide not including the crown
14.1mm high to the top of the domed crystal
52mm top to bottom lugs
22mm lug width
high domed sapphire with anti reflective coating
handwinding Seagull 17 jewel TY3600 grade AAA equivalent to Swiss COSC

3 part Stainless steel case with the front bezel and case back screwed on
Matt black dial
Superluminova BGW9 blue-line Hands and dial markers

heavy duty mesh bracelet and supplied optional heavy duty and high quality black leather strap
supplied quality tool kit with spare spring bars, 2 watchmakers screwdrivers and a bracelet/ spring bar tool
soft leather zipped case

IMHHO this is a very high quality watch, the high contrast dial is one of the easiest to read dials i have seen, the pale blue lume lasts all night
the case finish is faultless as is the bracelet and strap.
the watch is marked "made in Germany" but i am under no illusions that its is probably 99% or more Chinese sourced and maybe assembled in Germany, but this doesnt bother me in the slightest as the quality is there in bucket loads.
the watch and bracelet comes in at around 120 grams and is extremely comfortable to wear
the power reserve appears to be around 45 hours which is ample
accuracy is + 2 seconds a day which is far better than i will ever need but nice to know
the service and packing from Kemmner in Germany was impeccable, infact the box was huge so there was no possible chance of damage
not everyone's taste but thats to be expected.......i love it though Wink

I will start by saying I dont like the dial but I can not say for definite why I dont like it , there is just something about it that does not appeal to me , maybe it is the SL I am not sure but having said that the lume on the dial is amazing I really like that . The fine detail in the manufacture of the movement is very good even the etching on the movement itself is so clear and crisp.

The tight mesh bracelet suits the style of the watch . So although not my cup of tea I can certainly see the appeal as to why you bought this watch .

Wow another addition to the collection and very nice indeed, are you going to try it on the leather at any point, I’m afraid that because of one thing I couldn’t see myself wearing it, the coin ring ( bezel) or what ever it’s called I can’t like them and has put me of watches in the past, enjoy wearing it

Going by your write up and pictures I can understand your
enthusiasm about the watch.

The placing of a sub dial with SL in it is possibly to balance the sub dial with seconds at the 9 o’clock position. At first glance though it makes me think the watch is a chronograph.

I think it’s good that the sub dials aren’t lumed as the lume display is perfect as it is.

Presumably the “crows foot” arrow is a link to it being called a navy watch. It doesn’t detract from the look of the watch though.

All in all another special addition to your collection with the only caveat being the stiff competition from other watches for your wrist time. Very Happy

The leather strap is nice but I think the mesh bracelet suits the watch better. Very Happy
